Tax Director
to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, external advisors, and cross-functional partners while owning the firm’s tax function end-to-end. If that sounds like you, apply now! This role is hybrid in West LA.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Oversight & Compliance:
Own the firm’s tax function, overseeing domestic and international tax obligations across investment vehicles, holding entities, and management operations. Partner closely with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings.
Advisor & Vendor Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for external tax service providers. Coordinate deliverables, review work product, and ensure deadlines, estimates, and filings are met with consistency and accuracy.
Partnership & Investor Reporting:
Support the preparation and distribution of investor-related tax reporting, including allocations, schedules, and required documentation, while maintaining clear tracking and audit-ready records.
Withholding & Regulatory Support:
Manage tax documentation and compliance related to non-U.S. investors, including monitoring withholding requirements and supporting applicable regulatory reporting.
Tax Estimates & Payments:
Coordinate tax projections and estimates, and ensure federal, state, local, and international tax payments are completed accurately and on schedule.
Entity-Level Reporting & Allocations:
Prepare financial statements and allocation schedules for holding entities. Maintain tax basis tracking, allocation methodologies, and distribution frameworks used for internal reporting and compliance.
Process Improvement & Automation:
Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, improve data accuracy, and leverage technology to streamline tax processes and reporting.
Cross-Functional Finance Support:
Collaborate with the broader finance team on ad hoc projects and initiatives that support the firm’s overall financial operations and growth.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 6+ years of tax experience.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA preferred.
Soft Skills:
Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a close-knit and collaborative environment.
Organizational Skills : Highly organized with strong time-management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities in a growing company.
