Regional Distributor Leader - NY/NJ

for the Electrical Markets Division
is responsible for engaging and growing assigned direct distributor accounts. Developing and driving division marketing strategies and sales growth, along with gaining shelf conversions while aligning to end user opportunities, are keys to success.
As a Regional Distributor Leader, you will:
Grow 3M business with key distribution partners in assigned geography
Deliver the 3M EMD Brand Promise to distribution
Use analytic and category management skills to identify, influence, and manage new sales and conversion opportunities in the Channel
Report and manage product stock levels and new product stock suggestions to generate orders
Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key accounts/executives
Identify and develop marketing and promotional activities
Build relationships with new and existing stakeholders to increase sales
Communicate, present, and sell local and national promotions to multiple stakeholders
Coordinate and implement events, training, and merchandising sales plans
Manage contracts and RFQs
Conduct multiple weekly authorized distributor branch visits
Train distributor counter and sales personnel
Work in a team of commercial & industrial sales professionals and partner 3M divisions
Company Vehicle This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre‑employment and ongoing review of motor‑vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Six (6) years of sales or marketing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role
Five (5) years of experience in sales or marketing in construction, industrial, or electrical sectors
Five (5) years of distribution sales/marketing and/or management experience
Three (3) years of using Salesforce.com
Three (3) years of using Microsoft Excel
Experience with analytics, fact‑based selling, category management
Demonstrated experience communicating cross‑functionally and to all levels in an organization
Skilled at prioritizing and managing many projects simultaneously
Aptitude to understand multiple product lines
Management of multiple segments and marketing channels within distribution
Solid negotiating and selling skills
Previous experience calling on strategic accounts or influencing/building account support base; proficient business acumen including work with pricing, customer total profitability, and financial impact of business decisions on distribution
Work location Remote, Greater New Jersey Area
Sales Territory New Jersey and New York
Travel Includes up to 50% overnight travel
Relocation May be authorized

Compensation and Benefits Compensation range: $142,479 - $174,141 (inclusive of base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible).
