
Senior Cloud Architect

A client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud solutions across the enterprise. This role is ideal for a seasoned technologist with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Terraform, combined with a strong background in application development. You’ll help drive DTE’s cloud strategy, modernize critical platforms, and ensure scalable, secure, and resilient architectures that support the company’s long‑term business and technology goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of cloud solutions across Azure and AWS environments.
Partner with application development teams to design cloud‑native, scalable, and secure solutions.
Define cloud architecture standards, patterns, and best practices for hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
Provide technical leadership on modernization initiatives, including containerization, serverless, and microservices.
Evaluate new cloud services, tools, and technologies to support DTE’s digital transformation.
Collaborate with security, networking, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure compliance, performance, and reliability.
Troubleshoot complex cloud architecture issues and guide teams through resolution.
Mentor engineers and developers on cloud technologies, patterns, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Extensive hands‑on experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
Strong proficiency with Terraform for IaC design, automation, and deployment.
Solid background in application development (any modern language or framework).
Deep understanding of cloud networking, identity, security, and governance.
Experience designing highly available, scalable, and cost‑optimized cloud architectures.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tooling.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
