Position Summary The Development & Marketing Manager is a dedicated staff member responsible for planning and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, enhancing the organization’s public image through effective marketing, and building and nurturing strong donor relationships. This role uses performance analytics to guide decision‑making, optimize campaigns, and ensure fundraising and marketing efforts are aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage annual and long‑term fundraising strategies.

Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.

Manage donor databases, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of contributions.

Identify and pursue grant opportunities, corporate partnerships, and major gifts.

Coordinate with the Board of Directors to plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns.

Marketing & Public Image

Create and execute marketing strategies that elevate the nonprofit’s brand and strengthen public presence among donors, partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders.

Manage digital marketing, including website content, social media, newsletters, and email campaigns.

Oversee the creation of promotional materials and storytelling content that communicates mission impact.

Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and communications.

Relationship Management

Build strong, lasting relationships with donors, partners, board members, and community stakeholders.

Develop personalized engagement plans for donors.

Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and presentations.

Analytics & Performance Measurement

Use performance metrics and analytics to evaluate fundraising and marketing effectiveness.

Track KPIs, campaign results, donor engagement trends, and audience insights.

Provide regular reports and data‑driven recommendations to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

Continuously refine strategies based on insights and outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of experience in fundraising, development, or marketing, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, and ability to learn other applications.

Proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and analytics dashboards.

Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.

Demonstrated ability to use data to inform decision‑making.

Pass Department of Criminal Investigation, Department of Transportation, Sex Offender registry and Child Abuse Registry background checks according to organization’s standards.

Must have a car or access to one, possess a valid (United States) driver’s license and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.

Grant writing experience

Major donor strategy experience

Graphic design or digital media skills

Experience with CRM or donor management systems.

Event planning experience

CRFE – Certified Fund Raising Executive certification

Working Conditions

Full‑time role (remote, hybrid, or on‑site based on organizational structure).

Occasional evening or weekend events required.

Ability to travel locally for donor meetings and community events.
