Faegre Drinker is actively recruiting a Patent Agent to join the Intellectual Property group in our , Indianapolis office. This position offers the opportunity to be involved with all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution. Successful candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates with experience in drafting and prosecuting patents related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, or other emerging technologies are strongly preferred. Current admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required. Two or more years of working experience as a licensed patent agent is required. Experience in client counseling or working in the software and hardware related industry is a plus. Candidates must be collaborative and motivated to succeed in a client-focused, team-oriented environment. Preferred candidates will have excellent academic credentials and strong written and oral communication skills.
