Overview
AML Sr. Investigator I - Special Investigations Unit at Capital One. The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Sr. Investigator I supports various AML processes, including suspicious activity investigations and other AML workflows. The role works closely with AML Supervisors and Managers to perform critical functions. The Special Investigations Unit conducts suspicious activity reporting and closing investigations for high-risk typologies, among other items. Responsibilities
Build and maintain awareness of the broader context and implications of the various types of risk affecting the business (e.g., financial, legal, reputation). Review system-generated alerts, assess impact to AML processes, conduct research as required, and document results in written format. Write suspicious activity reports, conduct enterprise-wide reviews of the relationship, make closing recommendations, and perform other AML processes in accordance with regulations and time limitations. Handle issues appropriate for advanced investigation and analysis. Review referrals from various sources (e.g., lines of business, Legal, Senior Management). Self-manage a queue of alerts, cases, and closing investigations. Support the operation of a SIU Specialty Desk and contribute to desk guides and referrals decisioning. Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification At least 2 years of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) experience, or at least 2 years of investigative experience, or at least 2 years of compliance experience Preferred Qualifications
3+ years AML experience, or 3+ years of investigative or compliance experience Bachelor’s degree (preferred) Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) Certification Work Location and Travel
Role may be performed virtually from home. Candidates must be within 50 miles driving distance of Capital One hubs in Wilmington, DE; Richmond, VA; New Orleans, LA; Plano, TX; Melville, NY; Chicago, IL; McLean, VA, and be comfortable coming in person with short notice as required.
