Job Description About the Role: The Associate Portfolio Manager will work closely with the Senior Portfolio Manager, Global Equities, to help shape the strategy, direction, and effective management of Global Equities portfolios within Invesco Fundamental Equities’ investment and risk framework. This role requires strong fiduciary responsibility to clients, active engagement with the Global Equities team, and the ability to interact confidently with clients, consultants, brokers, and other external stakeholders. Covers equity securities of companies with market capitalizations of over USD $10B that are headquartered in many developed and emerging countries across the world. Performs due diligence on investments in the portfolio (e.g., conducts site visits, meets with management). Works with the trading desk for securities market trading and provides instructions to traders. May participate in client marketing activities. This position includes direct stock coverage responsibilities and is a part of a team that manages a total of $18.3B as of January 31st, 2026.
Responsibilities of the Role Portfolio Management & Investment Process
Partner with the Senior Portfolio Manager to develop, refine, and implement strategies for Global Equities portfolios
Analyze portfolio composition, performance, and risk attributes to support optimal portfolio outcomes
Maintain financial models and active coverage on approximately 20 companies across at least three sectors
Contribute to portfolio construction and integrate quantitative signals in collaboration with internal partners (e.g., quantitative analyst)
Review and analyze investment results, attribution, and trends to enhance performance with strong fiduciary discipline
Work with the Senior Portfolio Manager to develop and maintain an effective investment process, including trading policies, procedures, and annual business goals
Research & Market Coverage
Monitor legislative, regulatory, and macroeconomic developments affecting global equities
Interface with the ECM desk regarding potential IPO opportunities
Collaborate with ESG and Global Investment Forum teams
Risk, Compliance & Governance
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks
Engage regularly with the Risk team to review portfolio exposures, discuss findings, and provide feedback
Prepare materials for investment committees and respond to ad hoc information requests from senior management
Client, Consultant & Internal Partner Engagement
Represent the Global Equities team to internal and external stakeholders, including clients, prospects, consultants, brokers, and gatekeepers
Market the team’s capabilities to existing and potential clients as well as internal distribution partners
Participate in meetings with major wire houses, key accounts, and investment platforms
Provide timely information, reporting, and insights to internal partners and external constituencies
Requirements of the role
A Master’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, business, or a related field is ideal
10+ years of experience in equity research and/or portfolio management
Strong understanding of both retail and institutional clients
Coverage experience across at least three sectors
Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective presentation ability
Demonstrated success as a team player in collaborative, global, and cross-functional environments
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to influence outcomes across teams and organizational levels
Confident engaging with management teams, brokers, consultants, and clients
Open-minded, flexible, and receptive to diverse viewpoints
Exhibits leadership qualities, intellectual curiosity, and a strong work ethic
Ability to travel internationally required
CFA designation strongly preferred
The salary range for this position in New York is $250,000 to $280,000 / year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
