
Human Resources Director

A growing financial services / alternative lending company with approximately 100 employees across multiple U.S. states and international operations is seeking a hands on Director of HR to build and lead the full HR function during a key stage of growth and transformation.
This role will own all core people operations, including HR administration, benefits, payroll coordination, recruiting, compliance, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development. You will partner closely with leadership, hiring managers, and accounting to create scalable people programs and strong operational infrastructure across a distributed workforce.
HR Director Responsibilities
Own the full HR function across a multi-state and international employee base
Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, payroll coordination, and HR policies
Oversee recruiting, workforce planning, and hiring support across departments
Ensure compliance with federal, California, and multi-state employment laws; international experience is strongly preferred
Handle employee relations, manager coaching, performance processes, and corrective action as needed
Build scalable programs around compensation, reviews, engagement, training, and career development
Maintain and optimize HR systems and processes in a fast-moving environment
HR Director Requirements
7+ years of progressive HR experience
2+ years in a senior or standalone HR / People leadership role
Strong multi-state HR experience
International HR experience required, with Mexico labor law knowledge strongly preferred
Experience building or improving HR systems and processes in a scaling company
Background in fintech, financial services, or another regulated industry preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is a plus
