The Director of AV Support, University Information Services - Georgetown University, provides leadership and oversight for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all audio-visual technologies across the Hilltop and Capitol Campuses. This position manages a team of engineers and technicians responsible for ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of AV systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces. The Director will develop and execute a strategic vision for AV services that aligns with the University's academic and administrative goals, ensuring that faculty, students, and staff have access to state-of-the-art and dependable audio-visual resources. Duties include, but are not limited to: Leading and mentoring a team of AV engineers and technicians. Developing and implementing a strategic plan for AV technology and services across the Hilltop and Capitol Campuses. Overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of AV systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces. Managing the departmental budget and resources for AV engineering services. Ensuring a high level of service and support for all AV-equipped spaces. Collaborating with University stakeholders to identify and meet their audio-visual needs. Collaborating with Facilities Project Management on construction-related projects to ensure AV requirements are met. Staying current with emerging AV technologies and making recommendations for adoption. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Classroom & Shared Space Support. The Director of AV Support plays a crucial role in supporting the University's academic mission by providing reliable and effective audio-visual technologies for teaching, learning, and collaboration. This role will work closely with other leaders within University Information Services, as well as with partners in various academic and administrative departments. The Director will have several direct reports, including AV engineers and technicians, and will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Requirements and qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in audio-visual technology, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role. Demonstrated experience with the design, installation, and maintenance of complex AV systems in a higher education or corporate environment. Strong knowledge of current and emerging AV technologies, including video conferencing, lecture capture, and classroom control systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Proven ability to manage a budget and a team of technical professionals. Preferred requirements and qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field. Experience in a higher education setting. Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I.
