Associate Media Director, Performance Media Job at Pixel in San Francisco

Pixel, San Francisco, CA, United States

We’re looking for a full-stack performance media leader — someone with deep channel expertise across paid search, programmatic, and paid social who can own strategy end-to-end, build the plan, and execute in-platform. We need someone fluent across channels who can glean actionable insights from complex data sets, tell a clear story from the numbers, and turn that story into strong optimization recommendations.

We’re growing our media team and looking for someone who’s ready to own client relationships, drive channel strategy across the full media mix, and help shape how we use data and AI-driven tools to inform decisions and scale media operations.

What You’ll Do

Own channel strategy across Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, Video/CTV, and Retail Media

Develop integrated performance media plans, testing roadmaps, and optimization frameworks tied to client business outcomes

Lead channel mix and budget allocation decisions grounded in performance data and client objectives

Analyze campaign data to surface actionable insights — then translate those insights into clear narratives and concrete optimization recommendations for clients and internal teams

Present performance results, strategic POVs, and forward‑looking plans to clients and senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence

Drive continuous optimization across campaigns — not just reporting what happened, but prescribing what to do next and whyI

Mentor media managers and contribute to agency‑wide capability and process development

Actively integrate AI tools and automation into media planning, buying, and reporting workflows — we expect you to be hands‑on with the technologies reshaping how media gets done

Qualifications

5–8+ years in performance marketing or digital media at a performance‑focused agency

Full‑stack media planner and buyer with demonstrated depth across paid search, programmatic, and paid social

Proven strategic leadership — you’ve owned channel strategy, shaped media plans, and built testing and optimization frameworks, not just executed campaigns

Exceptional ability to analyze performance data, extract actionable insights, and tell a clear, compelling story from the numbers that drives decision‑making

Strong optimization instincts — you don’t just report results, you prescribe what to do next and can defend the recommendation

Experience managing or contributing to $3M–$10M+ annual media budgets

Confident, polished presenter who can hold a room with clients and senior stakeholders

Genuine fluency with AI tools and automation in media workflows — you’re already using them, not just curious about them

Nice to Have

Experience with consumer electronics, product‑driven B2C, or technology clients

Familiarity with GA4, Looker, SA360, DV360, or similar platforms

Experience directing or coordinating work across distributed teams

Who You Are A strategic performance marketer with depth across channels who leads with data, tells a clear story, and always has a point of view on what to do next. You see AI and automation as how media gets done going forward, not a nice‑to‑have. You thrive at a boutique agency with top‑tier clients where your thinking directly shapes the work and the business.
