Volunteer Lead, Podcast (Built by Educators – A CollabED Podcast)

About CollabED CollabED is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing educator collaboration, professional growth, and innovation in teaching and learning. We create accessible, community-driven spaces where educators connect, share practices, and grow together. One of those spaces is our podcast, Built by Educators, which highlights real conversations about teaching, leadership, and the realities of education today.
Role Overview The Volunteer Lead, Podcast will oversee the direction, coordination, and growth of Built by Educators. This role is ideal for someone who believes in educator voice, authentic storytelling, and building something meaningful from the ground up. You will help shape the podcast as a consistent, high-quality extension of the CollabED community.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning and coordination of podcast episodes from concept to release
Collaborate with hosts, guests, and internal team members to schedule and prepare recordings
Guide episode themes to ensure alignment with CollabED’s mission and educator needs
Review recordings and work with volunteer editors to finalize episodes and clips
Support the development of short-form content (highlight clips, quotes, social posts)
Maintain a consistent publishing cadence and organize the content calendar
Ensure each episode reflects a natural, educator-centered tone (not scripted or top-down)
Help grow the podcast’s reach through thoughtful, mission-aligned promotion
Qualifications
Strong organizational and communication skills
Interest in podcasting, storytelling, or educator-focused media
Ability to manage projects and follow through on timelines
Comfort collaborating with a remote, volunteer-based team
Alignment with CollabED’s mission and values
Preferred (Not Required)
Experience with podcast platforms (Riverside, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.)
Basic understanding of audio/video editing workflows
Experience in education or working with educators
