Profiles is hiring a Director or Sr. Manager of PR & Media Relations for a non-profit client based in Charlotte, NC, for a full-time, remote position.
Overview We are seeking a seasoned PR and Media Relations professional to lead earned media efforts and support strategic communications initiatives. This role is ideal for a proactive, resilient communicator who thrives in fast-paced environments and can confidently engage with media and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Develop and distribute press releases and manage media communications
Lead media outreach and build strong relationships with reporters and outlets
Support crisis communications efforts as needed
Draft and manage social media content aligned with PR strategy
Execute earned media strategies within the Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned (PESO) framework
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent messaging
Qualifications
3 years minimum experience, but ideally 5–10 years of experience in PR, media relations, or communications
Proven success in earned media and media outreach
Existing network of media contacts strongly preferred
Strong writing skills across press releases and social media
Basic media training and understanding of crisis communications
Familiarity with the PESO model
Ability to work with diverse, experienced teams (including veterans)
Thick skin, adaptable, and results-driven
Self-starter who can execute and drive outcomes independently
