
Personal Injury Paralegal

VanDerGinst Law - Personal Injury Lawyers is in search of a Personal Injury Paralegal for our Des Moines office!
Please note that a minimum of 2 years of experience at a plaintiff personal injury law firm is preferred for consideration.
Qualifications
Prefer 2 years +- prior experience in a personal injury law firm as a legal secretary and/or paralegal
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and problem solve
Familiarity with medical records, medical chronologies and personal injury workflows
Familiarity with e-filing and various court rules, procedures and deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with pre-litigation and litigation case preparation, including:
Reviewing and summarizing medical records
Creating medical and factual chronologies
Drafting demand packages and correspondence
Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and other third parties
Request, track, and organize medical records, bills, and other case documentation
Draft and file pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents as needed
Maintain accurate and organized case files (electronic and physical)
Manage deadlines, calendars, and task lists to ensure timely case progression
Assist with litigation support as cases progress, including trial preparation when necessary
Identify liens and negotiate lien reductions under attorney supervision
Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support the legal team
This position is full-time, in-office. It is not remote.
