One of my direct clients, an institutional real estate investment firm, is looking for a Product Owner - Enterprise Technology.
Onsite 5 days a week - San Antonio, TX.
Mandatory Skills - Agile/Scrum Delivery, Stakeholder management and communication (on-shore, off-shore), Data Projects/Real estate domain knowledge mandatory
Duration - 12+ months, long term, C2C/FTE

The Product Owner will own the end‑to‑end delivery of technology products and enhancements of the Company's investment, finance, and operations functions. The role will work closely with onshore business stakeholders and both onshore and offshore technology teams to translate requirements into a clear product backlog, detailed documentation, and working solutions that meet business outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Act as the primary bridge between business stakeholders, onshore development teams, and offshore development teams.
Lead requirements discovery sessions with business users to understand processes, pain points, and desired outcomes.
Translate business needs into well‑structured product artifacts, including product vision, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and requirements.
Own and manage the product backlog: prioritize features, defects, and technical debts based on business value, risk, and capacity.
Facilitate refinement/grooming sessions with onshore and offshore tech teams to ensure shared understanding of scope and requirements.
Create user stories to ensure alignment with requirements.
Perform functional validation / UAT support and coordinate business UAT sign‑off for new features and releases.
Maintain high‑quality documentation: BRDs/FRDs (where needed), user story backlogs, sequence diagrams, data mappings, and operating procedures as needed.
Monitor product performance post‑release; gather feedback and convert it into a continuous improvement backlog.
Communicate status, risks, and dependencies clearly to business sponsors and technology leadership.
Required qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
5–8+ years of experience in a Product Owner / Product Manager / Business Analyst role.
Preferred domain real estate investment, asset management, or related domain.
Hands‑on experience working with distributed teams (onshore–offshore model) in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Demonstrated experience writing high quality user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional documentation.
Strong understanding of SDLC concepts and common integration patterns (APIs, data feeds, batch processes).
Proven track record of partnering with business stakeholders to define and prioritize a roadmap and backlog.
Skills and competencies
Strong business acumen in investment / asset management / real estate or willingness to quickly ramp in company's domain.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to translate between business and technical language.
Strong facilitation skills for workshops, grooming, and backlog prioritization with onshore and offshore participants.
Ability to manage competing priorities, negotiate tradeoffs, and make data‑driven prioritization decisions.
Proficiency with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) for backlog and sprint management.
Experience with documenting processes using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
Collaborative mindset, high ownership, and comfort operating in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
