E-Billing Specialist

Role Overview The E‑Billing Specialist serves as a liaison between clients, billing teams, and vendors to ensure the seamless execution of the firm’s electronic invoicing lifecycle. This individual spearheads new client intake and vendor setups while troubleshooting complex invoicing challenges such as rejections, budget discrepancies, and manual LEDES file configurations. In addition, the role mentors E‑Billing Coordinators and coordinates with collections to resolve payment delays, maintains financial accuracy through monthly accruals, rate increases, and detailed status reporting.

Responsibilities

Assists the E‑Billing Manager with high‑level communication between client contacts, the billing team, and case teams.

Spearheads the new e‑billing client intake process, coordinating with officers and client contacts.

Facilitates vendor setup for new e‑billing clients, including payment processes and terms with the collections team.

Assists with e‑billing vendor invoice processing for payment.

Oversees complex e‑billing invoicing issues such as rejections, deductions, budget discrepancies, and resolves them.

Mentors and provides daily support to E‑Billing Coordinators, acting as a key resource for development.

Assists with monthly accruals and estimate reports.

Leads vendor and client updates for new timekeepers and bill rate changes during rate increases.

Prepares and submits electronic client invoices using Aderant, BlillBlast, and e‑billing vendor websites.

Assists with invoice submissions that have unique requirements, such as uploading cost backup or creating manual LEDES files.

Works with Aderant support to resolve BillBlast issues and configuration requests.

Provides updates on e‑billing issues for clients and submission statuses.

Assists billing and collections with follow‑up on invoice rejections, short pays, resubmissions, and other issues.

Provides information for audits and special projects.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a directly related role, preferably in professional services.

Experience with professional services billing software; experience with CMS/Aderant is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word); intermediate/advanced Excel proficiency is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business, or equivalent combination of experience, skills and education.

Benefits Cornerstone Research offers a competitive market‑based salary and a total compensation package that includes an annual performance bonus, comprehensive benefits such as healthcare, paid time off, and retirement savings. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Salaries (base only):

Boston: $81,300 – $100,600

Chicago: $77,600 – $96,000

Los Angeles: $81,600 – $100,900

New York: $83,000 – $102,700

San Francisco: $89,000 – $110,100

Silicon Valley: $90,700 – $112,300

Washington, DC: $79,700 – $98,500
