Position Purpose Supervises, coordinates and expedites all work pertaining to the Carpentry and Painting Departments according to established codes and hospital priorities.
What You Will Do
Supervises assigned technical staff of the department to ensure the quality of work.
Manages the workflow of the department to ensure completion of work assignments.
Contributes to the effective management of the Engineering Department.
Responsible for the performance of assigned personnel within the carpentry department and how they relate to the overall function of the engineering department.
Ensures compliance with hospital and departmental safety policies and procedures.
Provides training and orientation of department staff to assist in maintaining staff's competency.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Education or Equivalent Required.
Experience: 7‑10 years
Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches building and fire codes, specifications and diagrams.
Physical And Mental Effort
Physical effort required. Delegation of work and assurance of satisfactory completion required. Therefore, there exists moderate to occasionally heavy amounts of stress related to this job.
Position requires ability to constantly push/pull and lift light objects, perform simple manipulative and gross body coordination skills; walk and stand; see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
Work load and schedule is heavy. Employee may frequently be exposed to dust and loud noises. Precautions should be taken when handling materials or solvents. Employees may frequently be exposed to hazardous waste materials; toxins, cytotoxins or poisonous substances and other hazardous materials such as chemicals.
