Accounting Coordinator (Real Estate Experience)

We are partnering with a growing property management and real estate investment firm in West Los Angeles seeking a detail-oriented Real Estate Accounting Coordinator to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation and hands‑on experience supporting the day‑to‑day financial operations of a real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily accounting operations for a portfolio of residential and/or commercial properties

Process accounts payable invoices, vendor payments, and expense allocations

Support accounts receivable, including tenant payments, rent postings, and collections follow‑up

Prepare and post journal entries and assist with bank and account reconciliations

Help maintain accurate tenant ledgers, vendor files, and property financial records

Assist with month‑end close, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and supporting schedules

Review and track CAM, operating expenses, and property‑level charges where applicable

Coordinate with property managers regarding tenant billing, vendor issues, and account discrepancies

Support preparation of financial reports, rent rolls, and ad hoc property accounting analysis

Maintain organized documentation for invoices, leases, contracts, and accounting records

Assist with audits, special projects, and process improvement initiatives as needed

Qualifications

2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate, property management, or commercial/residential real estate

Experience with MRI, AppFolio, or another property management/accounting software

Understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end close

Experience working with tenant ledgers, rent rolls, and property‑level accounting preferred

Strong Excel skills including v‑lookups, pivot tables, and reconciliations

Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational and follow‑up skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills
