The Department of Customer Services (CSD), Division of Motor Vehicles is seeking empathetic and attentive Customer Service Representative I's! This full-time, permanent role involves serving as the City’s representative in the Driver License/State ID Office by providing courteous public service, processing driver licenses and state IDs, operating cash registers and office equipment, and performing clerical duties that increase in complexity as training progresses.

There are two (2) vacancies located in Kapalama.
There is one (1) vacancy located in Kapolei.
What You'll Do at the Division of Motor Vehicles
Assist customers with driver’s licenses and state IDs by checking required documents, helping complete forms, taking photos and fingerprints, administering tests, and explaining rules and procedures.
Process payments and handle cashiering by collecting fees, issuing correct change, recording transactions accurately, balancing cash daily, and maintaining payment records.
Prepare and send official notices related to license suspensions or cancellations and retrieve records when requested by courts or through subpoenas.
Provide front desk and phone support by answering calls, assisting visitors, and handling routine tasks independently while using good judgment in unique situations.
Compile data and prepare reports by collecting and organizing information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as needed.
Enter and update records accurately by performing data entry for driver’s license and state ID information, transaction details, and statistical data.
Perform other related duties as required.
Special Work Requirements
Work schedule is from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
May float to various driver licensing centers as needed.
Selectees must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting process, as well as the Security Awareness Training and the Fraudulent Document Detection & Remediation Training.

Hiring Process
Interviews for the current vacancies will start May 4, 2026.
A conditional job offer will be made after all interviews have concluded.
Additional interviews for future vacancies may be scheduled by the individual hiring departments as vacancies occur.
Education Requirement Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.
Experience Requirement One (1) year of clerical experience, which shall have included some customer service or public contact experience.

Proficient typing skills with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute and 10-key by touch.
Required Skills
Follow all City rules, programs, and service requirements.
Use computers, office equipment, and related software effectively.
Communicate clearly, professionally, and courteously with the public.
Work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Perform basic math calculations and handle money accurately.
Write and type clearly using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Explain rules and procedures in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
Listen carefully to customers, remain patient, and resolve issues effectively.
Accurately enter, retrieve, and maintain data using computer systems.
License Requirement Valid Driver’s License (type 3/automobile), as required.
