The Social Media Specialist will support the Marketing & Communications team by executing a high-tempo, content-driven social media strategy aligned with company objectives. This role is responsible for capturing, creating, and publishing content that highlights Stratolaunch’s capabilities, programs, and milestones.
This is an on-site role requiring real-time content capture and the ability to translate complex aerospace topics into clear, compelling, and accurate messaging. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, with proven experience and ability in content creation, video production, and digital storytelling.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop, write, and publish social media content aligned with company priorities, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and AP style consistency
Translate complex aerospace and technical concepts into clear, engaging content for external audiences
Capture and produce photo and video content, including short-form clips, flight-related visuals, and behind-the-scenes material
Edit video (Premiere Pro) and create graphics (Photoshop) for social and marketing use
Manage and execute the social media content calendar, maintaining a consistent posting cadence
Track approvals for social media content and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual analytics reports, including performance metrics, trends, and insights
Benchmark company performance against industry peers and identify opportunities for growth
Plan and execute content that supports marketing campaigns, industry initiatives, and company priorities
Schedule, coordinate, and conduct interviews with employees
Develop employee spotlight content and internal storytelling features
Assist with PowerPoint template updates, slide development, and visual assets
Organize and maintain digital media libraries, ensuring assets are properly archived and accessible
Provide on-site support for events, tours, and media engagements through content capture and coordination, including acting as an escort when required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Aerospace, or related field
2–3 years of experience in social media, communications, or content creation
Demonstrated experience in: Video editing and end-to-end production
Photography and videography
Graphic design and visual storytelling
Strong writing skills required, including: AP style proficiency
Technical writing ability
Ability to adapt tone for public, government, and industry audiences
Proficiency with: Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe Photoshop
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage content pipelines, approvals, and large media libraries
Required Knowledge & Experience
Familiarity with aerospace and aviation terminology and concepts
Ability to understand and communicate technical flight and program information accurately
Familiarity with government and congressional language, including how to communicate about policymakers and public sector stakeholders
Additional Requirements
Must be available to work on-site in Mojave, CA
Ability to support event-based and schedule-driven work as needed
Comfortable working in and around aircraft operational environments in compliance with safety requirements
