
Customs Brokerage Specialist

Job Overview
Provide customers with the highest quality service by ensuring consistent customer service and resolution to allow the timely release and/or inbound or outbound movement of freight/cargo. Provide impeccable customer service and manage freight-related processes, including customs documentation and compliance.
Responsibilities
Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, and clients in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay freight release or movement.
Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and other service providers to exceed customer service requirements.
Resolve banking and letter of credit issues, advise customers on payment terms, and obtain payment on delinquent accounts.
Coordinate post‑entry activity and perform entry reconciliation as directed.
Perform route cause analysis and produce operational trend reports.
Communicate with business partners via written, phone, or e‑mail.
Access client systems (external) as necessary.
Support Account Administrators with account management activities (exception logs, special spreadsheets).
Facilitate entry processing, pre‑arrival and post‑arrival exception resolution, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
At least 12 months of brokerage or transportation, or customer service experience.
Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner).
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to handle high volume, time‑sensitive work and work independently with minimal supervision.
Attention to detail and familiarity with HTS classification and the harmonized tariff system.
Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and related federal requirements.
Paid training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in customs brokerage or related logistics role.
Additional language proficiency.
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
15.80 – 26.34 USD hourly
Paid training provided. Eligible employees receive health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement benefits, and tuition reimbursement.
Work Schedule Onsite, Sunday – Thursday, 8 am – 4 pm.
