We do this by empowering our employees, encouraging innovative solutions and recognizing great performance.**POSITION SUMMARY**The VP Head of Copy is responsible for defining, governing, and scaling Newrez’s brand voice, narrative strategy, and enterprise copy function. This role provides executive leadership over how Newrez communicates across marketing, product, lifecycle, and customer experience touchpoints, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, compliant, and effective.In this role, you’ll be responsible for how Newrez communicates across marketing, product, lifecycle, and customer experience. You’ll set support brand standards, build processes, mentor talent and ensure our messaging is clear, consistent and effective at every touchpoint. This is not a “hands‐off” role, but it is also not purely executional—you’ll lead through direction, partnership and example.**DESCRIPTION****Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities*** Own and evolve Newrez’s enterprise brand voice and narrative strategy across all channels and customer touchpoints.* Translate business strategy, product complexity, and regulatory considerations into clear, customer first messaging that builds trust and drives engagement.* Serve as the final gatekeeper for copy quality, tone, and consistency, ensuring alignment with brand standards and compliance requirements.* Lead copy strategy across campaigns, digital experiences, product launches, onboarding, lifecycle marketing, email, social, and performance channels.* Ensure complex financial topics are communicated accurately and simply, balancing brand storytelling with performance and conversion goals.* Establish scalable copy systems, guidelines, and workflows that enable consistency and efficiency across teams and regions.* Leverage data, testing, and insights to continuously optimize messaging and improve outcomes.* Evaluate and thoughtfully adopt AI enabled tools to increase efficiency while maintaining quality and brand integrity.* Partner cross functionally with Marketing, Product, Design, Growth, PR, and Legal/Compliance to align messaging and support launches and initiatives.* Support executive communications, brand storytelling, and PR efforts as needed.* Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.* Performs related duties as assigned by management.**Qualifications and Education Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.* 12+ years of experience in copywriting, content strategy, or brand storytelling.* 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing and developing creative or content teams.* Proven experience leading brand voice and messaging in a regulated or complex business environment.* Background in financial services, fintech, consumer technology, or other regulated industries preferred.**Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge*** Strong expertise in brand voice development, narrative strategy, and multi‐channel copy execution.* Ability to simplify complex, regulated, or technical topics for broad audiences.* Strong leadership and people‐management skills with a track record of building high‐performing teams.* Excellent editorial judgment with a high bar for quality, accuracy, and consistency.* Strong collaboration and influencing skills across cross‐functional stakeholders.* Data‐informed mindset with experience using insights and testing to improve messaging.* High learning agility and comfort operating in a fast‐paced, evolving environment.* High degree of professional maturity, integrity, and discretion.* Strong business acumen and technical aptitude.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern content workflows.**Work Environment and Physical Requirements*** Working on-site at assigned office location.* Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.* Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.* Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.* Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.* Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.* Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.A good faith estimate of the compensation is:119,600.00 - 219,120.00Compensation for this position may also include other elements, including medical, financial, various paid time off benefits, and a bonus based on individual and company performance, variable or annual.Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, location, etc.Additional Information:While this description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the position’s requirements, it in no way implies/states that these are the only job responsibilities.
