
Indirect Tax Analyst

This position will be responsible for handling the Indirect Tax functions for a variety of Daikin-owned entities. Responsibilities will include timely completion and filing of Sales & Use tax returns, researching and reviewing tax law changes, supporting Sales & Use Tax Audits, and other indirect tax projects.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation and filing of the monthly, quarterly, and annual filings of sales & use tax returns for both domestic and Canada
Gather data and prepare Business Licenses and assist with compliance, audits, planning, and other related items including but not limited to property tax and unclaimed property
Prepare all sales and use tax registration requests, qualifications and maintenance of permits
Respond to all state and local notices, assessments and inquiries
Monitor the transaction tax accrual and payment G/L to ensure reconciling issues are resolved in a timely fashion
Perform special projects such as refund claims, as needed
Manage the completion of all check requests and EFT requests related to such reports
Determine proper taxability of customers and transactions
Assist in the preparation of work papers and/or gathering of existing information requested by state taxing authorities upon audit of the sales and use tax reports as required
Respond to requests and complete research in a timely manner
Research sales and use tax issues
Perform other related duties and indirect tax projects as required

Tax research experience
Proficient in MS office. Familiarity with a mainframe-based ERP system such as MAPICS, MINCRON, and/or SAP
Experience
1 – 3 years of sales tax experience of combined public accounting and/or Multi-state Corporation (manufacturing industry experience preferred)

4-year degree required (preferred programs - accounting, finance, or any related field)
