About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction, management, and administration of the organization, with a strong focus on external relations and community leadership. This role is pivotal in maintaining the organization's legacy while driving growth in fundraising, community visibility, and program reach. The Executive Director will be expected to lead all fundraising efforts, including individual donor programs, and to engage with the Board in philanthropic partnership. Essential duties also include financial management, board relations, and program development, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have 5-10 years' of progressive nonprofit leadership experience, a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), and a proven track record in fundraising and external relationship building. Experience in disability services, special education, or advocacy is essential, with a preference for candidates with lived experience in the field. The role requires strong management skills, including board relations, financial oversight, and a commitment to DEI. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a trauma-informed leader, and will have a background in program development and planning.
