This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Marion Correctional Institution in the Warehouse. Our mission in the Warehouse is to efficiently manage the storage and distribution of supplies, as well as handle all incoming and outgoing mail for the correctional facilities. We aim to ensure that all operations run smoothly, supporting the overall functioning of the institution and meeting the needs of both staff and inmates. Job Duties: Be the gatekeeper of security by processing all incoming and outgoing inmate and institutional mail, ensuring no contraband slips through and adhering to strict mail rules and procedures, including handling legal and privileged mail. Take charge of delivering legal mail, maintaining meticulous logs, and acting as a notary when needed, ensuring every piece of mail is properly handled and documented. Keep the institution running smoothly by distributing institutional mail, preparing routine replies, updating reports, and efficiently processing inmate grievances. Provide essential clerical support for institutional operations, expertly handling court documents, and assisting with various mailroom-related tasks. Manage the warehouse inventory with precision, process received goods, place property tags, and assist vendors and staff with routine questions, all while maintaining professional relationships and clear communication. This position may require the incumbent to possess a CDL license. Additional Information: Background Screening Requirement: The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
