
Assistant Golf Professional

Overview
Our Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for delivering an exceptional experience to members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the golf facility. This role combines customer service, tournament and event coordination, instruction, and golf shop management to ensure a high standard of service and organization. A Golf Professional also works closely with staff across all departments to promote a positive club environment, uphold the Rules of Golf, and enhance the overall enjoyment and engagement of the membership.
Essential Responsibilities Member & Guest Experience
Provide outstanding customer service to members and guests
Foster a welcoming, professional, and engaging golf environment
Address member inquiries and ensure a high level of satisfaction
2. Tournament & Event Operations
Plan, organize, and execute tournaments, outings, and club events
Utilize tournament software (e.g., Golf Genius) for scoring, pairings.
Coordinate logistics including carts, scoring, and on-course setup
3. Golf Instruction & Player Development
Deliver private and group instruction to players of all skill levels
Promote and grow instructional programs, clinics, and junior camps
Assist players in improving fundamentals and overall performance
4. Golf Shop Operations & Merchandising
Assist with daily golf shop operations, including tee sheet management and point-of-sale systems
Maintain merchandising displays and inventory control
Support retail sales and product knowledge initiatives
5. Outside Operations Coordination
Work closely with outside services staff to ensure efficient cart staging, range setup, and pace of play
Assist in managing daily operations flow to enhance the overall golf experience
6. Rules of Golf & Course Care
Uphold and enforce the Rules of Golf and club policies
Educate members and guests on proper etiquette and course care
Support pace-of-play initiatives
7. Teamwork & Professional Representation
Collaborate with golf staff, maintenance team, and club leadership
Represent the club in a professional manner at all times
Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement of operations
