Director of Logistics for a $100M+ Marketplace and Fintech Platform
Palermo Advisors, Miami, FL, United States
Our client is on a mission to build a world‑class logistics engine on top of their high‑growth B2B marketplace and fintech platform. With over $100M in annual revenue, they connect buyers and sellers of consumer electronics across the U.S. and Latin America through a tech‑enabled commerce ecosystem. Headquartered in Miami with a 30,000 sq ft fulfillment center, they are currently transforming their logistics unit from a reactive operation into a $20M+ standalone business powerhouse.
Miami, FL (On‑site)
The Role They are looking for a hands‑on Director of Logistics to fully own the logistics P&L, commercial strategy, and operational scaling. This is not a back‑office coordination role; it is a foundational "Build + Fix + Scale" leadership position for a relentless operator who has built a logistics business before and is ready to do it again—faster and smarter. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will turn an existing $1.1M business unit into a highly profitable, systematized, and dominant regional player.
Responsibilities
Own the logistics P&L
– Drive revenue, margin, and growth from day one, with a clear mandate to scale from $1.1M to $3M in 2026 and $20M+ long‑term.
Drive commercial growth
– Aggressively acquire and develop new 3PL customers, marketplace sellers, and cross‑border shippers; build pricing models and service packages across freight and storage.
Lead operational excellence
– Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the 30,000 sq ft Miami warehouse and design SOPs for all logistics and fulfillment workflows.
Master cross‑border execution
– Own imports, exports, and customs compliance; lead the Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) designation process to completion by the end of 2026.
Build and lead the team
– Hire and mentor a high‑performance team across Miami and Medellín; set KPIs and establish a culture of high accountability and execution.
Implement the tech stack
– Evaluate, select, and deploy TMS/WMS tools and partner with the tech team to integrate logistics data into the core platform.
Collaborate cross‑functionally
– Work closely with Marketplace, Sales, and Finance to integrate logistics as a core value‑added service for all platform users.
Who They’re Looking For
7–12 years of progressive logistics experience
– Deep expertise in 3PL, freight forwarding, distribution, or e‑commerce fulfillment.
Commercial "Hunter" DNA
– Proven track record of personally selling logistics services and managing a commercial book of business; you must know how to open doors and close deals.
The "Trailblazer" mindset
– An autonomous, results‑driven leader who thrives in high‑urgency, fast‑moving environments and takes initiative without being told.
Bilingual Leadership
– Fluency in English and Spanish is non‑negotiable, as you will lead a bilingual team across Miami and Colombia.
P&L & Build Experience
– You have owned a P&L and have experience building or restructuring operations from scratch rather than just maintaining existing ones.
Cross‑border expertise
– Specific experience in U.S.-LATAM trade lanes and a strong existing network in the South Florida logistics community.
Technical Savvy
– Comfortable selecting and implementing logistics systems (TMS/WMS) and using data to drive real‑time decision‑making.
Local Presence
– Must be based in Miami or willing to relocate to be physically present at the warehouse and with the local team.
