Job Summary The Digital Content Marketing Coordinator supports the University of Texas at Arlington’s digital communications and marketing efforts by coordinating, building, maintaining, and optimizing content within the University content management systems (CMS). This position focuses on content operations, CMS page development, project coordination, and quality assurance to ensure that University web content is accurate, accessible, compliant, and aligned with institutional priorities. Working collaboratively with campus partners, the coordinator supports the execution of the University’s digital content strategy, assists with approved messaging, applies SEO, and contributes to discussions centering around user experience (UX) and user journey across University web properties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Content Operations & CMS Management
Build, update, and maintain webpages within University‑approved content management systems using established templates, components, and approved content.
Coordinate the review, approval, publishing, and ongoing maintenance of digital content to ensure accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and compliance with University branding, editorial standards, and applicable policies.
Work collaboratively with publications, media relations, OIT, and other campus stakeholders to ensure content on primary University webpages remains current and aligned with institutional goals.
Manage content‑related workflows, schedules, and dependencies to support timely updates to University web properties.
Conduct quality assurance reviews of web pages, including page structure, links, and metadata.
Digital Marketing & SEO Support
Support digital marketing and communications initiatives by coordinating and implementing campaign‑related webpages, landing pages, and updates within the CMS.
Apply and maintain SEO best practices on University webpages, including metadata, page structure, internal linking, and accessibility standards, in coordination with marketing and analytics partners.
Assist with the use of analytics, marketing automation, and personalization tools, as appropriate.
Collaboration, UX, and User Journey
Collaborate with UX designers, social media staff, and marketing leadership to ensure effective translation of approved strategies and messaging into CMS page builds and updates.
Contribute to discussions centering around user experience (UX), information architecture, and user journey, offering input based on CMS implementation, content structure, and usability considerations.
Project Management
Manage the projects assigned, coordinate and assign staff for successful completion, and maintain communication with stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in communications, marketing, front end design, or a related field.
Two (2) years of experience supporting, maintaining, or managing web content using a content management system (CMS).
Experience of HTML markup as it relates to structuring content for the web within a CMS.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, marketing, front end design, or a related field.
Five (5) years of experience supporting, maintaining, or managing web content using enterprise‑level content management systems.
Experience supporting or contributing to information architecture, page hierarchy, and navigation for complex, multi‑level websites.
Experience using web analytics or reporting tools to support content evaluation and optimization.
Experience collaborating with UX, marketing, or technical teams to support usability, user journey, and continuous improvement efforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to organize, structure, and maintain complex information within CMS environments to produce clear, usable, and well‑structured web pages.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders and campus partners.
Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks or projects in a deadline‑driven environment.
Strong understanding of front‑end web concepts, including HTML and CSS, as applied to CMS page structure, templates, and components in alignment with accessibility standards and institutional guidelines.
Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) principles and the application of SEO best practices within a CMS environment.
