Position Overview As an Automotive Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for selling automobiles by understanding, demonstrating, and explaining vehicle features and benefits. You will work closely with customers to identify their needs, develop buyer interest, and close sales while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Greet customers on the sales floor and determine vehicle preferences.
Demonstrate vehicle features and operation in the showroom or during test drives.
Recommend optional equipment and accessories to customers.
Research vehicle availability and consult with the Sales Manager as needed.
Assist with pricing, financing options, and prepare all necessary paperwork.
Deliver new vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand features and warranty information.
Maintain a prospect development system to encourage repeat business.
Stay informed about new products, features, and accessories.
Attend sales meetings and training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
Adhere to company policies and meet or exceed sales targets.
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
Work performed primarily in dealership showroom and lot, with frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Frequent standing, walking, talking, and hearing required.
Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 10 pounds.
Exposure to exhaust fumes and airborne particles may occur.
Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.

High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years of automotive sales experience, including knowledge of used car sales
Valid driver's license with satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials and regulations
Effective written and verbal communication skills for business correspondence and customer interaction
Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle practical situations with limited standardization
Ability to interpret instructions provided in oral, written, or schedule form
