Business Media is looking for an ambitious, metrics‑driven Senior Editor to own and grow the Leadership section on Inc.com, a high‑impact, contributor‑driven franchise built around sharp perspectives, actionable insights, and authoritative voices. This role will require weekly in‑office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7 World Trade Center, New York, NY. Salary range: $88,500-$106,000 plus bonus. Covered under the Writers Guild of America East Collective Bargaining Agreement. About the Role Inc. Business Media is looking for an ambitious, metrics‑driven Senior Editor to own and grow the Leadership section on Inc.com, a high‑impact, contributor‑driven franchise built around sharp perspectives, actionable insights, and authoritative voices. The Senior Editor, Leadership will manage and edit a large roster of columnists and freelancers, including a core group of high‑performing writers as well as a broader bench of contributors with meaningful potential. The ideal candidate combines strong editorial judgment with a deep understanding of audience behavior and digital publishing best practices—and is energized by the challenge of scaling what works. This editor maximizes success through smart editing, clear coaching, disciplined performance management, and the recruitment of new, high‑potential voices. What You’ll Be Doing Own editorial and growth strategy for Inc.com’s Leadership section, with accountability for editorial excellence and traffic performance. Edit, optimize, and publish daily columns. Manage and coach a large roster of columnists and freelance writers. Analyze audience data and performance metrics. Provide actionable insights on story selection, framing, headlines, formats, timing. Recruit, evaluate, and onboard new columnists. Collaborate with audience and social teams. Maintain Inc.’s editorial standards and mission across all Leadership content. Job Requirements 5+ years of digital editorial experience. Demonstrated success growing audience and traffic through smart editing. Experience managing, editing, and coaching freelance writers at scale. Fluency in analytics tools like Google Analytics and Parse.ly. Excellent editorial instincts for story framing, headlines, relevance. Clear, confident communicator. Highly organized and proactive. Interest in entrepreneurship, leadership, modern business ideas.
