Founded in 2003, Timber Technologies is a leader in high-performance laminated wood products, serving post-frame and engineered construction markets throughout the Midwest and beyond. What began as a shared vision between two industry veterans—one in structural engineering and one in lumber wholesale—has grown into a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation based in Colfax, Wisconsin.
Through continuous investment in automation, facilities, and quality, Timber Technologies has built one of North America’s most advanced glue-laminated product plants. With a strong culture of innovation, craftsmanship, and partnership, we’re now looking for a Business Development Director to expand our market presence and drive new growth opportunities.
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the CEO and President, the Business Development Director is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth across multiple markets. This hybrid role includes both hands-on client engagement and leadership responsibilities, collaborating closely with internal teams including engineering, marketing, and operations to ensure Timber Technologies’ solutions meet market needs.
This is a hybrid role based in Colfax, WI , with travel primarily throughout the Upper Midwest (4 nights/month). Relocation support is available , and candidates living within 60 miles of Colfax with construction or engineered wood industry experience are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and untapped markets
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry partners
Collaborate with engineering and operations to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs
Develop and implement go-to-market strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets
Represent Timber Technologies at industry events and associations to build brand presence
Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve sales processes and operational effectiveness
Provide market insights and competitor analysis to guide strategic decision-making
Mentor and collaborate with team members to foster a high-performing business development function
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within construction, lumber, or engineered wood products
Proven track record in driving growth and building strong client relationships
Strong understanding of distributor networks and spec-based sales
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Technical acumen to understand engineered wood products and construction solutions
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to innovate and drive initiatives from concept to execution
