UNIVERSITY COLLEGE (IN-UCOL-IUINA)

The Center for Transfer and Adult Students supports transfer and adult students through success and career coaching, specialized events designed for transfer and adult students, and the general studies degree program.

This position will be part of the Center for Transfer and Adult Students and will support transfer and adult students from orientation through graduation. The Assistant Director of Student Success reports to the Managing Director of the Center for Transfer and Adult Students that is part of Division of Undergraduate Education (DUE).

Department-Specific Responsibilities

Develops and implements programs and services that support transfer and adult students.

Collaborates with various stakeholders across campus to support orientation for transfer and adult students.

Interfaces directly with students, attends student programming events and gathers satisfaction feedback from student participants to implement into future student programming initiatives and objectives.

Supports the transfer bridge program and maintains relationships with bridge students.

Advocates for the enrollment and success of transfer and adult students by representing Indiana University (IU) Indianapolis and the Center for Transfer and Adult Students on various institutional and community committees, task forces, and working groups.

Develops and delivers effective presentations.

Uses and learns new technology proficiently and changes practices with changing technology.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION Required

Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public affairs, counseling, business, or a related field.

Preferred

Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or a related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

2 years in student services, higher education, or a related field.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$22.40 - 24.76 per hour based on education level and years of experience.

20 - 28 hours per week depending on office needs.
