We offer an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process! Our retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, averaging an additional $3.45 per hour on top of your hourly rate.
Position Summary An entry‑level sales position in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker/Sales Associate partners with the staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides. Greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive, professional manner to process sales and loan transactions. Thrives on customer engagement, assists with inquiries and problem resolution. Handles inventory placement, works with jewelry and general merchandise, and provides financial solutions.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Greet and interact with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
Perform non‑management open/close procedures.
Keep sales floor clean, stocked and maintain merchandise display.
Perform sales and loan transactions per established policies and regulatory requirements.
Handle all cash and negotiable items in accordance with policies and procedures.
Receive, evaluate, lift, carry, move, and secure customer merchandise for pawn, buy, and retail transactions.
Answer incoming calls per company standards.
Effectively communicate the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers using respectful communication tools.
Partner with employees to create a positive, memorable customer experience and work environment.
Successfully complete assigned training.
Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Regular attendance and punctuality essential.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 18 years of age (WA only: 21).
Entrepreneurial spirit.
Strong desire to work with customers, team oriented.
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficient basic math calculations.
Cash handling experience preferred.
Knowledge of jewelry and general merchandise preferred.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Strong communication skills including verbal, non‑verbal, active listening.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
Willing to work in multiple locations as needed.
Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
Computer literate and able to operate common office machines.
Ability to work with firearms as needed.
Work Location Primarily indoors. Employees may assist customers on the exterior of the building (parking lot) or retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings or other areas.

Standing/Walking – Frequently throughout shift assisting customers and performing inventory.
Sitting – Occasionally to complete sales documentation, reporting.
Bending – Frequently to handle merchandise.
Reaching – Frequently to retrieve items.
Walking – Frequently within the store.
Climbing – Frequently to access elevated storage.
Kneeling – Occasionally.
Physical Demands Must safely lift, carry, and move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally 70 pounds. Lifting continuous, may require immediate assistance.
Lifting/Carrying – Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, occasionally 70 lbs.
Tool usage – No tools regularly; jeweler’s tools occasionally.
Chemical usage – Occasional.
Definitions Occasional = 20% of time or less
Frequent = 20‑75% of the time
Continuous = 75% of the time or more
