Job Summary With a customer-first mindset, the Vice President of Strategic Partnership & Event Marketing will own go‑to‑market planning for high‑impact partnerships across travel, dining, entertainment, and lifestyle, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to shape partnership strategy, and deliver breakthrough benefits and campaigns that drive acquisition, engagement, and loyalty for Sapphire cardmembers.
This person will be responsible for strategy, activation and execution, ensuring partnerships align with portfolio objectives and position Sapphire as a high‑value product providing unique and valuable cardmember benefits. The ideal candidate will have experience in partnership and event marketing for a consumer brand, with a proven track record of achieving measurable business results. Job Responsibilities
Lead go‑to‑market planning for strategic partnerships and activations, collaborating with Portfolio, Partnership, Talent, Lifestyle, and Culture teams from brief through launch, activation, execution, and evaluation of results
Guide the development of creative assets and messaging, partnering with both internal and external creative and execution teams to enable cross‑channel strategies across social, email, digital and external communications
Lead and develop a team of marketers, providing day‑to‑day oversight of event marketing strategy and execution; set clear goals, coach for performance, and ensure operational excellence in marketing planning, launch, and performance optimization.
Identify partnership gaps and opportunities, monitor customer sentiment, and analyze key metrics to influence partnerships roadmap
Establish clear performance goals, learning agendas, and success metrics for each partner initiative; Translate insights into actionable recommendations for improvement
Manage multiple projects and prioritize resources to meet deadlines
Present strategies, business cases, and updates to senior leadership
Execute brilliantly in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
Ensure alignment with brand standards and business objectives
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 7 years in marketing, brand management, or relationship management
Proven ability to build relationships in a matrixed organization
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational and executional skills
Proactive and results‑driven approach
Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
Exceptional communication skills
Skilled at interpreting data and making strategic recommendations
Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities
Advanced analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Experience in financial services, credit card or strategic partnerships marketing
Familiarity with customer engagement strategies, including digital and traditional marketing channels
Background in agency management or creative leadership
Experience presenting to senior leadership
Strong organizational and project management skills
