Description Summary The Director of Information Technology is responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing Premier’s technology environment to support safe, efficient, and scalable operations. This role oversees IT infrastructure, systems, security, disaster recovery, and user support while partnering with leadership to align technology with business goals.

The role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and hands‑on technical involvement to ensure systems are secure, reliable, up‑to‑date, and aligned with Premier’s operational and customer experience standards.

Core Responsibilities IT Leadership & Strategy

Lead and manage the IT team, including direct oversight of the IT Manager and other IT staff

Establish IT priorities, policies, procedures, and best practices

Partner with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with business objectives

Provide regular updates on system performance, risks, and improvement initiatives

Attend management and leadership meetings as required

Infrastructure & Systems Management

Oversee and support all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, end‑user devices, printers, Wi‑Fi, and connectivity

Manage and maintain VOIP phone systems across all locations

Oversee software installations, upgrades, testing, and compatibility validation

Coordinate new office setups, expansions, and system standardization

Ensure all systems remain reliable, scalable, and aligned with operational needs

Cybersecurity & Disaster Recovery

Manage network security, firewall configuration, VPN access, and user permissions

Ensure protection of company, employee, and customer data

Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity plans for outages, cyber incidents, and system failures

Monitor system vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions

User Support & Operations

Ensure effective IT support for both in‑house and remote users

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and support escalations as needed

Ensure consistent service levels and timely issue resolution across the organization

Maintain activity logs for upgrades, maintenance, and system changes

Vendor, Asset & Budget Management

Lead hardware, software, and vendor selection

Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance

Oversee IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost control

Manage IT asset inventory, assignment, lifecycle tracking, and replacement planning

Process Improvement & Documentation

Identify opportunities to improve IT processes, system reliability, and user experience

Standardize IT procedures and documentation across departments and locations

Ensure systems and processes support efficiency, accountability, and compliancePerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)

8+ years of progressive IT experience

5+ years of experience managing IT teams and direct reports

Extensive knowledge of Apple and Microsoft hardware and software

Strong verbal and written communication skills
