Job Description The UF Innovation Academy (IA) is looking for an interested graduate or undergraduate student who would like to assist in developing graphic elements for the Innovation Academy. The Innovation Academy office provides support for prospective and current students in IA.

Responsibilities

Align event/program UF IA branding across different event materials with the use of Adobe programs.

Communicate ideas through team meetings, mood board sessions, design development and critiques.

Develop and edit UF IA event publicity, logos, and marketing materials and advertisements.

Design event graphic materials for Launch, Catalyst, Summit, etc.; including postcards, cards to save the date, agendas, itineraries, glass certificates, signage, nametags, t-shirts, booklets, PowerPoint presentations, and other deliverables.

Special projects such as murals, signage, social media assignments, and marketing campaigns.

Create PowerPoint presentations for Recruitment, Preview, Discover IA, Overview, and events such as Launch, Catalyst, and Summit.

Design IA social media graphics in Adobe.

Annual redesign of Annual Report.

Web graphic elements; resize and reformat designs and photographs for web and emails.

Correspond with printing companies on print projects; screen‑to‑print color knowledge, choose paper types and sizes, approve proofs.

Offer support to the IA team for major events, some of which may take place after 5 pm or on Saturdays.

Participate in staff interviews.

Provide front desk and phone coverage as needed to assist the Administrative Assistant and IA Ambassadors.

Expected Salary $14.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements

Open to all non‑IA Minor students eligible to work on campus, maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Must be in good academic and conduct standing with the University of Florida.

Registered UF students are employed on a part‑time basis.

Work schedule allows for office presence 4–5 days a week, 10–15 hours per week between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday‑Friday.

Able to commit at least two–three consecutive semesters to the position.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Robust portfolio with electronic and print media.

Ability to read, write, and communicate professionally.

Ability to work flexibly and efficiently in a multidisciplinary environment.

Junior or Senior in the UF Graphic Design program.

Knowledge of UF brand guidelines and extensive experience developing attractive, interesting University graphic products.

Basic copywriting and photography skills.

Patient with the needs of a growing office and student needs.

Strong customer service skills for students, families, and prospective students who visit or call the office.

Takes initiative, learns proactively, and adapts quickly to new situations.
