Job Title:
Sales & Use Tax Analyst
Location:
Fully Remote allowed (Eastern Time Zone Required)
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET
Pay Rate:
USD 42 to 45/ hr
Contract:
6 Months
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in tax compliance or a related field
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business or Accounting
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions
Ability to research and interpret tax laws and regulations
Experience with sales tax audits and reconciliation of tax accounts is a plus
Experience with Vertex tax software is a plus
Responsibilities
Prepare transaction tax returns for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings
Collect and organize accounting and tax data to ensure compliance with tax regulations
Research applicable tax laws and regulations and maintain up-to-date tax information
Support sales tax audits by preparing documentation and resolving discrepancies
Reconcile tax accounts and ensure proper reporting
Use Vertex software to assist with tax calculations and filings
Maintain accurate records of tax filings and audit documentation
Provide data gathering support for monthly compliance tasks
Assist with indirect tax projects
