Safety Director Requirements & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in construction or industrial safety, including exposure to electrical‑related hazards.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field strongly preferred.
OSHA 30 certification required.
Electrical contractor safety experience preferred.
Safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, or CHST are a plus.
Journeyman or Master Electrician license is advantageous.
Extensive knowledge of OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
Proficiency with MS Office and safety software.
Ability to travel regularly to regional job sites and occasionally out of state, including overnight stays.
Ability to provide 24/7 on‑call support for safety incidents as needed.
Safety Director Preferred Background & Skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team‑building skills.
Proven ability to build relationships and influence others.
Exceptional communication, documentation, and data analysis abilities.
Continuous improvement mindset and a collaborative approach.
Safety Director Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs and processes.
Collaborate with managers, field leaders, and teams to ensure adherence to the highest safety standards.
Educate, mentor, and train employees on safety policies, standards, and best practices.
Conduct site visits, audits, and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards.
Track safety data and metrics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Provide 24/7 support for safety emergencies and respond to incidents as needed.
Foster a culture of accountability, ongoing learning, and safety excellence.
