Director of Engineering & Facilities
Facilities Management | Plant Operations | Environmental Services | Healthcare | Senior Living
As a key leader on the Morningside team, the Director of Engineering & Facilities plays a critical role in ensuring our campus operates at the highest level of excellence. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for leading maintenance, plant operations, housekeeping, environmental services, and grounds operations across our Boerne Campus.

Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Plant Operations Leadership: Lead all aspects of building maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, and plant operations
Ensure campus-wide compliance with state, local, and life safety codes
Oversee mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical operations
Maintain optimal functioning of all buildings, equipment, and grounds
Team Leadership & Staff Management
Supervise and develop teams across maintenance, housekeeping, grounds, security, courtesy, and concierge services
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate team members
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence
Environmental Services & Resident Experience
Ensure high standards in housekeeping, cleanliness, and overall campus presentation
Conduct resident satisfaction meetings and surveys
Respond directly to residents regarding service requests and repairs
Vendor & Project Management
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance accountability
Obtain competitive bids and oversee capital improvement projects
Coordinate inspections and service contracts for all equipment and systems
Operations, Budget & Compliance
Manage departmental budgets, expenses, and capital planning
Oversee inventory, warranties, and service records
Lead emergency preparedness and disaster readiness programs
Ensure all operations meet healthcare and senior living standards
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Operations, Hospitality, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of facilities, building maintenance, or plant operations experience
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
Experience in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality environments preferred
Strong skills in communication, organization, and time management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Valid driver’s license required
