Job Summary The HR Generalist supports the full spectrum of human resources functions in a fast‑paced construction and data center environment. This role partners with operations and leadership to ensure effective execution of HR programs, compliance with employment laws, and a positive employee experience across field and office personnel. The HR Generalist plays a critical role in employee onboarding, HRIS administration, employee relations, and day‑to‑day HR operations in a multi‑state, project‑driven organization.

Employee Onboarding & HRIS Administration

Coordinate and execute end‑to‑end onboarding for new hires, including field and office employees, ensuring timely and accurate setup within HRIS and related systems.

Enter, audit, and maintain employee data in HRIS platforms, including new hires and rehires.

Ensure completion and compliance of all onboarding documentation, including I‑9s, E‑Verify (if applicable), tax forms, and policy acknowledgements.

Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HRIS functionality, onboarding processes, and basic system troubleshooting.

Employee Relations

Act as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.

Assist in addressing employee relations matters, including performance concerns, corrective actions, and workplace issues, in partnership with HR leadership.

Promote a positive, compliant, and consistent employee experience across job sites and offices.

Compliance & Policy Administration

Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including those specific to construction and project-based labor.

Assist with audits, reporting, and documentation related to HR, payroll, benefits, and safety requirements.

Maintain and administer HR policies, employee handbooks, and acknowledgements.

Training & HR Programs

Support training initiatives, including new hire orientation, safety training coordination, and compliance‑related training.

Assist in the administration of performance management, employee development, and engagement initiatives.

General HR Operations

Maintain accurate and confidential employee files in accordance with record retention requirements.

Provide general administrative support to the HR Leadership team as required.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

2–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in construction, skilled trades, or a project‑based environment.

Hands‑on experience with HRIS systems and employee onboarding processes.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or other field‑based, multi‑site organizations.

Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with field employees and leadership.

Proficiency in HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office, and related HR systems.

High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information professionally.
