Director of Operations- NICU at St. Louis Children’s Hospital
This business leader will be responsible for the operations, financial performance, and people management/leadership of the 150-bed NICU at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
The ideal leader will have experience working in a complex hospital environment overseeing the operations of service lines. This successful leader will be experienced in leading teams through change, problem solving, managing a budget, collaborating well with others and setting a solid strategy for the NICU.

Role Purpose Responsible for the operations, financial performance, and people management/leadership of identified departments. Provides consistently effective leadership, strategic and programmatic oversight, develops and executes departmental strategies focused on achieving excellent patient and employee experience, the highest safety and quality outcomes, financial success, and regulatory adherence.
Responsibilities
Manages individuals including but not limited to onboarding, hiring, training, workload management, performance evaluations, and professional development plans to support overall operational goals.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets and responds to changes that may affect budget goals.
Directs and manages overall operations of assigned areas, setting strategic direction in alignment with system objectives and ensuring necessary resources are in place.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, develops a plan, gains buy-in from team members and faculty, and executes the plan to monitor for success and sustainability.
Maintains a strong focus on employee engagement and patient experience, monitoring both and developing improvement plans.
Manages the equipment fleet, ensuring timely replacements, repairs, and maintenance in partnership with Clinical Asset Management.
Leads planning and execution of expansion plans on and off campus.
Recognizes that this is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe behavior.
