Position Overview The company is seeking a high-performing
Tax Analyst / Senior Tax Analyst
to join its corporate tax function. This role is ideal for a professional with foundational experience at a large public accounting firm who is looking to transition into an in-house corporate environment.
The position involves supporting the full lifecycle of federal and state income tax processes, from data collection and return preparation to quarterly tax provision reporting. The role offers strong opportunities for professional development, including exposure to complex tax accounting matters and strategic tax planning.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and/or review federal corporate income tax returns (e.g., Form 1120) and multi-state filings
Calculate book-to-tax adjustments and maintain detailed tax workpapers
Tax Provision (ASC 740)
Support quarterly and annual income tax provision processes
Prepare tax account reconciliations
Identify temporary and permanent differences
Assist in calculating the effective tax rate (ETR)
Tax Accounting & Journal Entries
Maintain the tax calendar and ensure timely filings
Record monthly tax-related journal entries in the general ledger
Perform quarterly reconciliations of deferred tax assets and liabilities
Technical Research
Research federal and state tax law changes
Draft internal memoranda summarizing the impact of new legislation
Audit Support
Assist with data gathering and responses to audit requests from tax authorities
Process Automation
Utilize tax technology tools and advanced Excel (e.g., Power Query)
Improve efficiency and automation of tax compliance processes
Required Qualifications Experience
1–5 years of corporate income tax experience
Analyst: 1–3 years
Senior Analyst: 3–5 years
Background
Prior experience at a large public accounting firm
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of corporate tax principles
Familiarity with ASC 740 (Accounting for Income Taxes)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Certification
CPA license in progress or already obtained
