Job Title

Nature of Work Under supervision performs specialized office work of moderate difficulty; performs related work as assigned. Typical Duties Receives, reviews, processes and distributes confidential and sensitive documents Processes documents related to misdemeanor, felony, and civil cases Updates electronic records Research's records and disburses information Records and documents court proceedings Receives and processes payments, fees, or bonds Compiles reports and summaries of work Schedules, gathers materials and prepares agendas for various court hearings May issue search or fugitive warrants, and generate warrants and orders to show cause May notify attorneys regarding continuances Composes, formats and types correspondence, reports and other documents May answer incoming phone calls May assist other agencies with information and explaining procedures May orient and train other staff May prepare and maintain accounting and other records May handle and account for cash in various amounts Essential functions of this position include: standing, walking, sitting, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching and bending to file; working at heights (step ladder) to retrieve files; crawling to reach bottom row files; twisting (working with computers and files); lifting (up to 30 lbs.); Carrying (up to 25 lbs.); pushing/pulling (up to 25 lbs.) boxes of files; working with and around co-workers and public; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand-wrist) for typing; repetitive motion (elbow-shoulder) lifting and filing; finger dexterity. Environmental factors include working around noise and heights. Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in clerical work; OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Additional Requirements Must pass fingerprint clearance. This position is non-exempt from overtime. The ideal candidate has worked in a professional office setting, meeting the public and providing information, has at least 1 year experience in clerical/secretarial/filing duties; detail oriented, experience with data entry, MS word, and computer literate with scanners, printers, email, video conferencing, financial management software and confidences and maintain private sensitive information in a secure manner. Must be able to meet ethical standards for judicial personnel at work and in personal life. Must have clean criminal background and be very dependable. Preferred Qualifications: Clerical or general office experience - Financial accounting experience, file management skills, public contact skills, computer word processing, document processing, data entry and database management skills, legal or court experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Considerable knowledge of: Justice Court terms and meanings - Office practices and procedures - Rules and procedures of department, including state and federal law - Word processing, spread sheets and other computer applications - Business English, spelling and arithmetic Skill in: The operation and maintenance of a variety of office equipment - Customer service - Researching and problem solving Ability to: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public - Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety - Follow written and verbal instructions - Communicate effectively verbally and in writing - Type and perform data entry accurately - Prepare and maintain complex records and reports Coconino County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
