Director of Finance / HR

A growing, privately held, family-owned organization, is seeking a Director of Finance / HR to lead and develop its finance and people operations. This newly created leadership role will oversee all accounting, financial planning, and HR functions while partnering closely with ownership and senior leadership.

The Director of Finance / HR will lead a small team and play a critical role in building scalable processes, improving financial visibility, and supporting continued growth. This is a highly hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment and is passionate about making an impact in women’s health.

Salary: Approximately $110,000 – $120,000 + profit sharing/retirement contributions

Key Responsibilities of the Director of Finance / HR

Lead all financial operations including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Manage month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis
Oversee AP, AR, and day-to-day accounting activities
Establish KPIs and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
Partner with ownership to develop and execute financial strategy
Manage and mentor a small accounting team (AP, AR, billing)
Oversee payroll and HR functions including benefits, employee relations, and recruiting
Collaborate with external auditors and advisors
Drive process improvements and build scalable systems and controls

Qualifications for the Director of Finance / HR

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Background in full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, close)
Exposure to HR functions (payroll, benefits, employee relations) preferred
CPA preferred but not required
Experience in a small business or hands-on environment strongly preferred
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
