IT Specialist - Director of Infrastructure Operations Center

Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) seeks a full‑time Information Technology (IT) Specialist (GG‑2210‑14) to serve as Director of the Infrastructure Operations Center for Unified Platform at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Salary: $148,275 – $197,200, based on experience.

Relocation expenses may be paid.

20% telework possible with approval.

In this role you will provide planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over non‑supervisory employees assigned to the Unified Platform Operations Center, and supply IT tailored services to support development, fielding, and operations of cyberspace systems.

Qualifications / Requirements

Professional knowledge and mastery of a broad range of IT systems analysis and applications software concepts, functions, techniques and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems and applications software projects and to design, write, test, debug and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure in the database environment.

Broad knowledge of USCYBERCOM, AF, DOD and national‑level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s) and ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization and ability to modify standard practices and techniques to solve complex interrelated problems.

Expert knowledge of IT information security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and provide advice on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews. Knowledge of security procedures to maintain control over classified material.

Expert knowledge of Local Area Network security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering and unauthorized system entry.

Expert knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system and applications software programs and to measure system performance and/or extend operating system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations.

Expert knowledge of IT management information systems requirements and application software development techniques required in carrying out project assignments of considerable difficulty and with little specificity regarding approach to be followed.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Top Secret" Security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Must obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification (e.g. CISSP, CASP+) within 6 months of assigned duties.

Position is a Drug Test Designated Position.

This is an Emergency Essential, Mission Essential & Key Position. Active Guard and Reserve personnel are not qualified.

This is a Critical Acquisition position; incumbent must obtain and maintain DAWIA certification and sign a written agreement to remain in federal service for at least 3 years.

A master’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, cybersecurity or other related fields of study – RMF – Software Acquisition Pathway Experience – Agile/SAFe Experience – Infrastructure Value Streams Experience – DevSecOps Experience – Kubernetes & CI/CD – Cloud‑based Platform Operations – Linux System Administration – Infrastructure as code. You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the above qualifications.
