BBVA is seeking a Senior Vice President to join its CIB Global Structured Trade Finance Solutions team in New York. This is a senior origination and structuring role focused on delivering bespoke, structured trade and working capital solutions to BBVA’s corporate and institutional client base. The successful candidate will play a lead role in transaction origination, structuring, execution, and distribution, acting as a senior product expert and trusted partner to Coverage teams, GTB Sales, Risk, Legal, and Distribution. The role requires strong commercial judgment, deep technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex, cross‑border transactions from concept through closing. Key Responsibilities

Originate, structure, and execute Structured Trade Finance solutions, including prepayments, inventory finance, borrowing base facilities, contract monetization, receivables‑backed structures, and other limited or non‑recourse financings. Act as a senior product specialist supporting client dialogues, pitching tailored solutions that address working capital, liquidity, and risk mitigation needs. Partner closely with Coverage and GTB Sales to drive new business opportunities, deepen client relationships, and expand BBVA’s Structured Trade Finance franchise in the Americas. Lead client negotiations on commercial terms, structure, and documentation in coordination with internal stakeholders. Take primary responsibility for transaction structuring, ensuring alignment with client objectives, BBVA’s risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and capital efficiency. Conduct and present comprehensive transaction analysis, including legal framework, commercial rationale, structural mechanics, cash flow modeling, collateral analysis, and risk identification. Proactively identify risks and structural weaknesses and propose mitigants or alternative solutions to enable successful execution. Oversee transaction execution from initial concept through credit approval, documentation, closing, and post‑closing handover. Internal Coordination & Governance

Serve as a senior coordinator across internal teams, including Coverage, GTB Sales, Credit, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Distribution, ensuring efficient execution and clear accountability. Prepare and present information memoranda, credit submissions, internal approvals, client marketing materials, and lender presentations, particularly for lead‑arranger or sole‑bookrunner roles. Ensure adherence to BBVA’s internal policies, credit standards, and governance processes. Work closely with the GTB Distribution team to structure transactions suitable for primary or secondary distribution. Support syndication processes, including lender engagement, documentation alignment, and post‑closing investor communication. Contribute to portfolio management discussions, including concentration, tenor, country, and counterparty risk considerations. Strategic & Franchise Development (SVP Focus)

Contribute to the strategic development of BBVA’s Structured Trade Finance offering in the region. Act as a mentor and informal leader to junior team members, supporting skill development and best‑practice sharing. Represent BBVA internally and externally as a subject‑matter expert in Structured Trade Finance. Required Qualifications & Experience

Professional Experience

10+ years of relevant experience in Structured Trade Finance, Commodity Trade Finance, Global Transaction Banking, or a closely related field (investment banking, structured lending, or principal finance). Demonstrated expertise across complex structured trade products, including prepayments, inventory finance, borrowing base facilities, contract monetization, and limited/non‑recourse structures. Proven track record of originating, structuring, and executing large‑scale transactions, including lead arranger or coordinator roles. Strong experience working with cross‑border transactions and international counterparties. Experience interacting with credit committees, risk management, and senior stakeholders. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Law, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s, or equivalent) is a plus. Language

Remote work: Up to 40% on a quarterly basis. Compensation: Competitive base salary plus performance‑based annual bonus. With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $180,000 to $220,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
