Axon is on a mission to Protect Life. We are looking for a Director of Global Credit and Collections to lead worldwide credit risk and order‑to‑cash operations, shape global credit strategy, drive transformation in cash collections, and guide a team across the Americas, EMEA and APAC.
The role partners with Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Tax, Treasury, Controllership, IT, and other stakeholders to improve invoicing, collections and overall cash flow. It involves policy development, process design, operational excellence, change management, and the delivery of best practices that reduce bad debt.
Location & Reporting Location: Onsite in Scottsdale, Boston, Seattle, Atlanta, Denver, San Francisco, New York or Sterling, VA. Reports to: VP, Commercial Operations. Direct reports: ~13 individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Gain a deep understanding of customer quotes, orders, contracts, revenue and billing schedules.
Partner with stakeholders to implement controls and processes for accurate billing.
Lead delivery of process and technology enhancements, recommending optimal solutions.
Define and drive change‑management programs to minimize business disruption.
Collaborate with IT to design, test and implement technology changes for credit review and invoicing.
Prioritize teams’ engagement in opportunity‑to‑cash transformation programs.
Ensure customer‑facing teams reflect empathy and support of customer needs.
Own and drive reporting on key metrics (cash forecasts, DSO, AR aging, bad debt).
Lead ERP and order‑to‑cash platform enhancements.
Collections & Cash Flow Optimization
Oversee escalated collections strategies for high‑value or complex accounts.
Partner with Treasury and FP&A on cash‑flow forecasting.
Champion automation and technology investments for modern collections workflows.
Establish and govern global credit policies, risk frameworks and approval authority.
Oversee portfolio‑level credit risk analysis.
Drive adoption of advanced credit risk tools and data analytics.
Support automation of opportunity and quote approvals with credit insights.
Manage vendor relationships with credit rating agencies.
Governance, Compliance & Reporting
Present AR performance, risk metrics and strategic initiatives to leadership.
Ensure compliance with regulations across all jurisdictions.
Maintain robust internal controls and lead audit readiness.
Build executive‑level dashboards tracking DSO, cash collection targets and reserves.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics.
12+ years experience in Global Credit and Collections, 5+ in a leadership role.
Strong program and change‑management expertise.
Experience leading large‑scale process and technology transformation, including automation and AI tools.
Excellent communication, presentation and executive‑level engagement skills.
Deep understanding of ERP systems and integrations.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
Collaborative partner focused on results with the ability to balance risk and growth.
Data‑driven mindset and continuous improvement focus.
Proactive leadership and ownership of resolution to completion.
Strong conflict resolution and persuasion skills with integrity.
Ability to motivate a team and meet deadlines.
Experience leading global teams across multiple regions and currencies.
Expertise in credit risk assessment, trade finance and collections best practices at scale.
Work Location This role is based at any U.S. office. Hybrid schedule: onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, remote on Mondays (unless approved otherwise). The in‑office culture promotes collaboration, mentorship and shared success.

Base Pay Range $143,475 - $229,560 USD.
