Controller/Director of Accounting – Nevada Beverage Base Pay Range: $115,000/yr – $130,000/yr

Job Summary This office‑based role requires a detail‑oriented Director of Accounting to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department in a fast‑paced beverage distribution environment. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy of financial records, manage accounting staff, and support business growth through robust financial reporting and compliance. The role demands a strong understanding of accounting, inventory and distribution operations and the ability to work collaboratively across finance, operations, and sales teams.

Responsibilities

Oversee general accounting functions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory accounting, and bank reconciliations.

Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Maintain internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.

Monitor inventory accounting, including reconciliation of inventory counts, costing, and shrinkage analysis.

Collaborate with operations and sales teams to align financial reporting with business activities.

Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Coordinate and lead external audits.

Manage, train, and mentor accounting staff; promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Job Requirements The Director of Accounting must be proficient in accounting software (e.g., VIP and ADP) and advanced in Excel. A solid knowledge of inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and distribution operations is required. The candidate should thrive in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and exhibit strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Fluency in English (speaking, understanding, and writing) is mandatory.

Education Requirements Ath: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities, is required. Experience in beverage, wholesale, or distribution industries is strongly preferred.
