The Director of Perioperative Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all perioperative departments, including 15 Operating Rooms, 5 Endoscopy Suites, Perianesthesia Units, Pain Clinic, and Pre-Surgical Clinic. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of surgical patient safety, optimizing capacity and throughput, managing capital procurement and utilization, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. The Director serves as the key liaison between surgical services, anesthesia, physicians, and other stakeholders, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient outcomes. Population Served
Pediatric (29 days - 16 years) Young Adult (17 - 40 yrs) Middle Adult (40 - 65 yrs) Older Adult (66+ yrs) Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field Minimum of 5 years of progressive perioperative leadership experience, including significant OR leadership responsibilities Direct clinical experience in the operating room as a circulating nurse, scrub, or surgical technologist Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams in high-volume surgical environments Strong knowledge of surgical operations, block scheduling, and patient flow optimization Proven track record in capital procurement and large-scale operational project management Licensure/Certification
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [state of pract Preferred Education
Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field Preferred Experience
Experience in academic medical centers or high-volume surgical programs Preferred Certification
