POSITION SNAPSHOT: Our client has a new role for their Houston facility for a Technical Sales & Applications Engineer. This role serves as a critical technical and commercial interface between customers and our client's internal engineering, technical, and production teams, with primary responsibility for coordinating and managing technical sales inquiries. This person also contributes to the achievement of overall sales and revenue targets. The successful candidate will work closely with global commercial leadership to drive revenue growth and ensure customer requirements are clearly understood, feasible, and aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
The position is hands-on and technically focused, requiring a strong background in mechanical and manufacturing engineering to translate customer designs and specifications into manufacturable solutions using our client's manufacturing capability. The individual will own the technical dialogue with customers, preparing proposals, scopes of work, and costings, while ensuring seamless internal handover for accurate and timely project execution. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams to identify risks, resolve technical gaps, and adjust requirements where necessary, as well as proactive engagement with customers to manage expectations around design intent, technical scope, and lead times. In addition to supporting active opportunities, the role contributes to continuous improvement by capturing customer feedback, promoting the company's capabilities at industry events, and managing multiple fast‑paced projects in parallel, all while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and commercial performance.
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related field (Master's desirable) - to be able to quickly understand and translate customer requirements.
Proven practical experience as an Applications / Technical Sales / Manufacturing Project Engineer in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
US citizen - as they need to be able to work on confidential documents from projects from US Government and Defense primes.
Must have a valid US driving license.
Willing to travel globally - conferences, trade shows and customer visits. Must have a valid US Passport.
High sense of ownership for customer projects and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, able to handle multiple projects at the same time and to sensibly prioritize to meet customer deadlines.
Good blend of technical and commercial expertise, able to communicate clearly and with confidence in front of a customer.
Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Candidates must be local and be able to commute to the Houston facility daily. This is an on-site position.
