Director of Individual Giving – Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Director of Individual Giving to build and lead a comprehensive individual philanthropy program.
Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, this role will drive revenue growth across all individual giving channels—including major gifts, annual giving, alumni engagement, and year‑end campaigns—while building the systems, pipeline, and strategy to sustain long‑term growth.
This is a high‑impact, front‑line fundraising role responsible for both personally securing major gifts and creating the infrastructure for a scalable individual giving program.
Key Responsibilities Major Gifts & Portfolio Management
Build and manage a portfolio of ~100–125 individual donors and prospects with capacity for $10K+ gifts
Personally solicit and close five‑ and six‑figure gifts in support of BGCD priorities
Execute a disciplined moves management strategy (identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, steward)
Partner with the VP Advancement, CEO, and Board to advance top prospects
Build the Individual Giving Program
Design and implement a comprehensive individual giving strategy spanning:
Major gifts
North Texas Giving Day
Year‑end campaign
Alumni giving and engagement
Establish clear KPIs, pipeline metrics, and reporting dashboards
Develop segmentation strategies for donors at all levels (small → major → planned giving)
Build a sustainable donor pipeline with intentional upgrade strategies
Annual & Mass Giving Strategy
Lead execution of BGCD’s annual individual giving campaigns, including:
North Texas Giving Day strategy and growth
Year‑end fundraising campaign
Appeals and digital giving initiatives
Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to optimize messaging, storytelling, and donor journeys
Increase donor acquisition, retention, and average gift size
Donor Experience & Stewardship
Create a best‑in‑class donor experience that deepens engagement and retention
Design and execute meaningful stewardship strategies, including:
Personalized communications
Impact reporting
Events and site visits
Strengthen engagement of
Board members
Alumni network
Strategy, Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as the internal lead for individual giving strategy and performance
Provide regular reporting and insights on pipeline, revenue, and trends
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Programs, Marketing, and Club leadership
Support Advancement team priorities and organizational strategic initiatives
Qualifications
5+ years of successful fundraising, sales, or relationship management experience
Proven track record of securing five‑figure gifts (six‑figure preferred)
Experience managing a donor portfolio and moving prospects through a pipeline
Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to build systems and processes
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and storytelling abilities
High level of initiative, ownership, and accountability for revenue goals
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
Knowledge of the Dallas philanthropic landscape preferred
Success Metrics (First 12–18 Months)
Achieve annual individual giving revenue targets
Build and manage a qualified donor portfolio
Increase number of major donors and total dollars raised from individuals
Improve donor retention and upgrade rates
Execute North Texas Giving Day and year‑end campaigns
Establish clear reporting and pipeline management systems
